Summary: If ever a people deserved tasering, it’s Holmeses.

Why?: Because when Lestrade first meets Mycroft she tasers him.  The irritated affection Lestrade feels for Sherlock is highly entertaining, as are the text messages she exchanges with Anthea.  Her relationship with Mycroft is sweet and Sherlock’s agitation every time he figures it out is hilarious.

Summary: Between what was and what will be stands James Tiberius Kirk, in all his fractured patchwork glory. Because saving the Federation was only the beginning.

Why?: The title of the story and the summary do an excellent job of recommending this story.  Because Jim is so good, so earnest and so determined and Spock is so steadfast and equally determined.  I love they way their relationship develops and the protectiveness they feel for each other.  This story made me cry more than once.

Republic of Heaven (WIP)

Pairing: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson

Summary: Born to a witch and a human, people know Sherlock will be unusual from the start.  John Watson, on the other hand, seems perfectly ordinary, except for his dæmon…

Why?: Although I like both HDM and Sherlock (BBC) I wasn’t entirely sure about this crossover.  CKS convinced me to read it and she was absolutely right.  The story is about Sherlock and John without any crossover from the characters in the HDM books.  Their relationship in this story is absolutely beautiful.  Blind Author’s descriptions of Sherlock and John’s observations of each other is beautiful and the added characters of their daemons are so well done that I feel like I should see them running around in the TV show.

Summary: Six years after the Battle of Theed, a Jedi thought lost returns. This

is not necessarily good news.

Why?: An angst filled AU/redo of the star wars prequel trilogy. Features dark Obi-Wan and hopeful Qui-Gon. The story starts a few years after the events of The Phantom Menace, which are mostly unchanged with the exception that Qui-Gon lives. The plots deep and dark with several unexpected twists that keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat.

Kurt shrugged. “The important ones.”

Why?: I’m not much of a Glee fan, for a long list of reasons that I’ll spare you, but this one really appealed to me. I love Papa Loki, and tigriswolf really characterized him perfectly with a great mix of Dangerous Villain and Protective Father.

Why?: Any fic where the Villain tries to protect the hero deserves a look. Also features papa Loki, goat pulled chariots, and reincarnation. The author manages to capture the characters voices even in unusual situations.
